In Luke 11, Jesus teaches us how to pray. First, he gives us an example of how a way to pray (what we call the Lord's Prayer today). But then he tells a parable about a man who was persistent in his requests and didn't stop until he got what he needed.
I never thought of that parable as an example of HOW to pray. But Jesus told his disciples this story after they asked him how to pray--so why would we dismiss it? Praying persistently and boldly is the way Jesus teaches. So why do we approach the Throne of Grace with timidity?
